An aerial track for a smooth and precise movement

The door of the Alidos shower enclosures runs on an aesthetically pleasing aerial track. The movement is fluid, precise, easy and allows you to physically feel the quality of this shower enclosure. When you slide the door you feel the solidity of the glass, you appreciate the precision engineered joints of the various structural elements and you are pleasantly surprised when the door “self-activates” a slight slowdown before reaching the end of its stroke.

Upper crosspiece in glass from 10 mm

The door is made of 8 mm tempered glass. Given its weight, the track it runs on must have perfect straightness and be structurally resistant. Thanks to a brilliant design solution, however, this load-bearing requirement does not result in a visually bulky design. Far from it: the Alidos style is about the lightness of its lines. The stainless steel track is integrated into the thin upper profile, also in stainless steel. The structure is strengthened by a 10 mm glass crosspiece that goes from the side upright to the wall profile. A strong but transparent crosspiece, and therefore visually discreet.

An (almost) invisible strength

The long **upper glass crosspiece (1) **ensures the straightness of the track on which the door slides. The crosspiece is in turn supported by two side glass panels: the fixed glass (2) behind which the door slides and a glass on the side (3) that partially overlaps with the door when it is closed. These two panels are integrated with the upper crosspiece by two hooks (4) in an inverted U-shape, made of Stainless Steel with a finish identical to that of the profiles.The upper crosspiece is also supported by a solid stainless steel capital (5) interlocked on the corner upright.

Stainless steel handle

In keeping with the style of the collection, the Alidos handle has a lightness in its appearance. The handle is in stainless steel with the same finish as the profiles: it can therefore be in polished or brushed steel or in one of the coloured PVD finishes. With the door closed, the handle seems to be even more slender, almost like a graphic element. This is thanks to the shape solution of the fixed glass side panel, which houses the handle and is made to perfectly match the shape of the handle.

Gentler closing and perfect water tightness

The ground profile ensures excellent water tightness without PVC gaskets. This choice guarantees greater hygiene and reduces the need for maintenance. Along this profile, a system of guides keeps the door glass precisely in position, facilitating its fluid movement. The guides are designed to house the glass door and to slow down its movement at the end of the stroke when opening and closing, thus avoiding sudden impacts, noise and also giving a pleasant sensation.
